6U and VIP program:
- The coaches usually manage the matches at these levels. Players learn the game and develop in a semi-competitive yet fun atmosphere.
Officials/Referees for 8U:
- You must be at least 10 years old.
- Register as a volunteer on Blue Sombrero at www.ayso166.org
- Take the online AYSO Safe Haven course at aysou.org
- Pass or have passed the 8U Official/Referee course–signup at aysou.org
(You also may take the Regional Referee course instead.)
Referees for 10U and 12U:
- You must be at least 12 years old.
- Register as a volunteer on Blue Sombrero at www.ayso166.org
- Take the online AYSO Safe Haven course at aysou.org
- Pass or have passed the REGIONAL REFEREE course with a 75% or better on the written exam–signup at aysou.org
Referees for 14U:
- You must be at least 14 years old.
- Register as a volunteer on Blue Sombrero at www.ayso166.org
- Take the online AYSO Safe Haven course at aysou.org
- Pass or have passed the INTERMEDIATE REFEREE course with a 90% or better on the written exam–signup at aysou.org
- Receive an official Referee Observation, have completed the Regional Referee course, and have refereed 25 matches as a center referee (with 5+ in 12U).
Referees for 16U and 18U:
- You must be at least 16 years old.
- Register as a volunteer on Blue Sombrero at www.ayso166.org
- Take the online AYSO Safe Haven course at aysou.org
- Pass or have passed the ADVANCED REFEREE course with a 90% or better on the written exam–signup at aysou.org
- Pass the fitness test, complete both a referee and AR assessment, have completed the Intermediate Referee course, and have refereed 50 matches as a center referee (with 10+ in 14U) and 5+ matches as an AR in 14U.
